Short-wave radio is an important platform for broadcasters to distribute programme content worldwide on a large scale. Above all, the simple and unrestricted radio reception with portable terminals continues to make short wave an attractive medium for listeners and broadcasters alike.
ORS operates one of the few shortwave broadcasting centres in Europe in Moosbrunn (Lower Austria). From the Vienna Basin, which borders southern Vienna, ORS brings shortwave radio of renowned customers to Africa and the Middle and Near East.
For more than half a century, radio programmes have been broadcast worldwide via short wave from the broadcasting centre in Moosbrunn
The ORS masts have a height of more than 70 metres and a weight of more than 320 tonnes
Due to the technical infrastructure of the ORS shortwave broadcasting centre, radio programmes can be transmitted thousands of kilometres away (e.g. as far as Australia)
