Cable network operators have three options at their disposal for feeding television programmes into their own cable network.  Direct signal feed via terrestrial transmitters, via satellite and the possibility to receive broadcast programmes directly from the television broadcaster via a direct connection, the so-called cable MUX.

ORS, in cooperation with ORF, provides six cable multiplexes (all ORF channels in SD and HD quality as well as private TV and radio channels). Cable network operators take the IP cable multiplex directly from the regional ORF studios. Many cable providers in Austria use cable MUX.
