ORS Group focuses on growing streaming market with technology partner

The ORS Group and the Polish software company Insys Video Technologies presented a new software solution at the Amazon headquarters in London, which makes it very easy to provide online video services. This means that streaming solutions can be produced quickly and cost-effectively without in-house development know-how. Furthermore ORS comm acquires a stake in Insys Video Technologies and plans to gradually acquire it in the coming years.

Technology for fast-growing video streaming market

The "Cloud Video Kit" software solution presented in London allows companies and organizations to provide tailor-made streaming applications easily, quickly, and cost-effectively without their own development know-how. The technology is based on standardized AWS Media Services modules and supports live streaming and video on demand of audio-visual content (sports, culture, conferences, etc.). With "Cloud Video Kit", there is no longer any need for a separate development team to enter the fast-growing video streaming market; scaling problems are a thing of the past.

OVD market offers strong growth potential

Online video via the Internet is an increasingly popular form of audio-visual consumption. This does not mean that Online Video Distribution (OVD) will replace traditional broadcasting, but it rather will lead to the various technologies running side by side. However, the OVD market will grow faster than the traditional broadcast distribution market. This is why ORS comm has set itself the goal of participating in this growth by investing in the digital economy sector and using OVD services to increase the vertical integration in the digital sector (IP/streaming) and to scale it internationally.

"I am pleased that we can drive European growth together with one of the most innovative broadcastnetwork operators as a partner," says Insys Video Technologies co-CEO and co-founder Krzysztof Bartkowski about the future cooperation.

Synergies along the entire value chain

With its services, the ORS Group has already covered sub-areas of online video distribution (such as CDN and encoding). "By acquiring a stake in Insys Video Technologies, the ORS Group will be able to expand and complete its value chain in the OVD sector, both technically and organizationally. This provides ORS with an "end-to-end" OVD platform that has all the components necessary for distributing linear as well as non-linear video via the Internet.

This also includes providing solutions such as website integration and apps on the receiving end, such as on mobile devices and TV sets," explains ORS Managing Director Michael Wagenhofer. There are also numerous synergies in the areas of IT operations, software, and product development as well as infrastructure.

Multi-stage takeover process

The corporate integration of ORS comm with Insys Video Technologies provides for a multi-stage takeover process. The current minority stake is to be expanded to a 100 percent stake over the next 3-5 years.
