Transmitter network

ORS has around 430 transmitter sites in Austria and thus, a comprehensive country-wide transmitter network for the dissemination of TV and radio programmes.

Currently, 96 percent of Austrians are able to receive digital television via antenna (DVB-T2). By October 2017, digital terrestrial television switched over to the new standard DVB-T2 under the brand simpliTV.

simpliTV: The next generation of digital terrestrial television will disseminate a total of 40 TV channels, many of them in HD quality.

Its comprehensive country-wide transmitter network enables ORS to reach 98 percent of Austrians with VHF radio programmes.

For digital radio reception via DAB+ in Austria, a pilot project is currently in progress in Vienna.
